Linville Land Harbor 18-hole Ladies Golf Association

The 18-hole Linville Land Harbor Ladies Golf Association kicked off the season with a team best-ball-net competition on June 4.

Candace Hook, Darlene Cook and Pam Sabella captured the top spot with a round of 51. The trio of Jill McCarty, Ann Lynch and the blind draw recorded a 52 to finish second, while Pamela Patrick, Clara Madyda and Debbie Carlisle captured the third spot with a mark of 54.

Carlisle was closest to the pin on No. 7, while Loey Grader had a Hole-in-One.

Linville Land Harbor 9-hole Ladies Golf Association

The 2019 season has also kicked off for the Linville Land Harbor 9-hole Ladies Golf Association with a low gross/low net competition.

In Flight A, Ellen Norden won the top gross with a 50, while Donna Fisher and Ann Francis tied for second with a 54. The flight saw Mary Harvey card a 38 to claim the low net, with Rebeca Kenyon and Deb Hill finishing second and third, respectively.

Flight B saw Mary VanZandt finish in the top spot of the total gross with a mark of 54. Arlene Weiner and Ruth Unks fired rounds of 58 and 59, respectively, to end the round in second and third. Kathy Reed and Vel Moss tied at 37 for the low net, while Terrie Metze was one-stroke-behind with a 38.

In Flight C, Sandy Romine captured the top spot, while Betty Olson and Sara Grassman claimed the second and third spot. Nancy Fraser was the low net with Diane Shallis finished second.

Ann Francis was the closest to the pin of No. 7.

Mountain Glen Women’s Golf Association

The Mountain Glen Women’s Golf Association kicked off the 2019 season with the opening breakfast as well as a four-team competition.

Beth Hill, Willa Dean Phillips, Jan Dempster and Carrie Salinas had the top gross score of 72 to claim the top spot between 18-hole players. The five ladies who competed in the 9-hole association tied for the top spot with a 41.
