Early voting begins at Newland pool complex

According to the Avery County Board of Elections, 1,215 votes had been cast in Avery County by the end of the day on Saturday, Oct. 17. BOE Director Sheila Ollis noted that daily voting totals are ‘much higher’ than in past years. Early voting began in North Carolina on Thursday, Oct. 15. Early voting will take place at the Newland pool complex from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Oct. 19 to 23 and from Oct. 26 to 30, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 31. Polling sites will be open across Avery County from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
