County Democratic Party holds quarterly meeting

The Avery County Democratic Party held its quarterly meeting on June 25 at the Tudor Vance Meeting House in Crossnore. The meeting was led by Chair Richard Crews, who introduced candidates Terry Van Duryn, who is running for N.C. Lieutenant Governor in 2020, and Cal Cunningham, who will oppose U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis. The meeting featured speaker Jeanne Supin, a candidate from the Fifth Congressional District. Supin lives in Boone, and assists nonprofits and government agencies to deliver services for mental health and addiction needs of families and individuals. Supin spoke about her commitment to the principles of health, prosperity, dignity, as well as the values and policies she believes will bring those principles to life.
