NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED BUDGET The Avery County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2020-2021 Budget for Avery County on Monday, 1 June 2020, at 4:00 PM in the Commissioners Board Room, Avery County Administrative Building, Newland, NC. Pursuant to the authorization of the Remote Meeting Policy for Avery County, NCGS 166A-19.24, and Session Law 2020-3 (SB 704) adopted by the North Carolina General Assembly on 4 May 2020, the public hearing will be conducted remotely and physical attendance by members of the public will not be allowed. However, the public hearing will be open to the public as set forth below: The public hearing is being held for the purpose of complying with the requirements of North Carolina General Statute Chapter 159 and Session Law 2020-3 adopted by the North Carolina General Assembly on 4 May 2020, to receive public comments on the proposed 2020-2021 Budget. Public comments on the proposed 2020-2021 Budget may be submitted at any time between the initial publication of this Notice and twenty-four (24) hours following the conclusion of the public hearing. All public comments must be in writing and must be submitted by one of three methods: by U.S. mail, by email, or by facsimile to the Office of the Avery County Board of Commissioners. If submitted by US Mail, comments should be addressed to: Avery County Manager Post Office Box 640 Newland, NC 28657 If submitted by email to: avery.clerk@averycountync.gov If submitted by facsimile, to: 828-733-8209 The proposed 2020-2021 Budget will be available for inspection by the public on the Avery County website www.averycountync.gov on the homepage. The public hearing will be open to the public via the Avery County Youtube Channel. All media and/or members of the public that would like to attend will be able to do so via Avery County Youtube Channel.
