Beech Mountain Request for Qualifications for Engineering Services Please be advised the Town of Beech Mountain is seeking proposals from qualified engineering firms to perform professional services related to the design and construction of the project will address failing water distribution service lines (primarily ¾” galvanized steel pipes with leaking joints and connections by replacing them with approximately 15,000 linear feet of ¾” Polyethylene service line and brass connections. The location will be along various roads in the Town, with the goal of 600 service connections replaced. The primary purpose of the project will be to reduce water loss which is currently greater than 30% of water withdrawn. The service connections, which are a significant cause of water loss due to swing joints comprised of a minimum of 6 screwed joints per tap. Documents regarding the Town’s request for qualifications on website: Experience with projects funded through the NCDEQ Division of Water infrastructure is preferred. Copies of the request for qualifications may be obtained from the Town’s website at RFQ Bids page. RFQ submissions are due at the Town of Beech Mountain Town Hall no later than January 30th, 2022 by 5:00 P.M. The Town of Beech Mountain reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, negotiate with the best qualified firm regarding fees and/or the scope of services or postpone the decision for an indefinite period.
