EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION
W.A.M.Y. Community Action, Inc, headquartered in Boone, North Carolina, is currently seeking an Executive Director.
W.A.M.Y. is a private, non-profit agency that has been serving the four mountain counties of Watauga, Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey for more than 45 years. It is our mission to provide services, awareness, solutions and empowerment to individuals and families from disadvantaged circumstances in our four counties.
POSITION SUMMARY:
W.A.M.Y. is an equal opportunity employer, who is looking for a leader with skills in the areas of fund raising, grant writing, community relations, and, project and operational management. Applicant needs to have a Bachelor's degree in a business field as well as relevant experience. Starting salary range is $45,000 to $50,000 with an excellent benefit package.

LEES-MCRAE COLLEGE seeks an exceptional individual to serve as its Vice President for Advancement, with a starting date of June 1, 2010 or earlier if possible.
Lees-McRae College is a four-year, co-educational liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A., located in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of northwestern North Carolina. Dr. Barry M. Buxton will become the 15th President of Lees-McRae on June 1, 2010 after a successful decade as Vice President for Special Projects at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Responsibilities include:
Working closely with the President to cultivate relationships with alumni, foundation officers, corporate executives, parents and families, volunteers, donors and prospects.
Oversees all development, advancement and alumni relations services and activities.
Provides strategic leadership for plans for resource development, capital campaigns, and other fund raising priorities.
Role includes major gift solicitation, annual giving, gift planning, athletic related fund raising, church relations, and foundation and corporate relations.
Individual should possess the following qualities:
Experienced advancement professional with substantial relevant leadership and management experience preferably in higher education.
Broad vision and command of the development field and best practices.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse constituencies.
Excellent written and oral communication
An appreciation for and understanding of working in a mission-focused environment.
Bachelor's degree is required
